Parent Resources

Dear Parents,

Thank you for allowing Off the Wall to minister to your son or daughter. As a part of the body of Christ, Off the Wall strives to continuously remain faithful to God's Word, never straying from it. We are broken people who love the Lord and desire to see the younger generation grow in relentless passion and love for following Christ. Our goal is not to glorify Off the Wall, but to glorify the One who uses us to transform lives for Him.

We understand that it can be hard to watch a child leave the house and live on their own. Off the Wall is here to provide students with a safe space to learn this responsibility while being surrounded by a caring, Christ-centered community.

We also want to acknowledge that a student's family relationships have a large impact on their personal growth. As your son or daughter learns and grows at Off the Wall, it is important to encourage them in this journey and help us push them toward Jesus. We are passionate about seeing your child grow into a strong disciple of Christ. We hope you are too.

Please utilize the resources we have for parents on our website, but feel free to reach out to us with any further questions. We'd love to get to know you.

In Christ,
Todd MacMath

Director of Operations & Programming

HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY STUDENT?

Discipleship can be an intense time for those who dig deep to overcome past hurts and sin. A parent's role can be important in encouraging and pushing a student toward a Christ-like lifestyle.

While at Off the Wall, it is important for a student's parents to support them in their growth by not enabling sinful behavior and encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones in what God is calling them to. The Off the Wall staff seek to show God's love to your student in everything we do, and your support in their lives will supplement the work of the staff while your child is here.

You can support your student by:

  • Checking in. Ask them about what they are learning throughout the year and be a listening ear.
  • Giving them time. Growth takes time. Be patient for God to do the work in your student in His own timing.
  • Prayer & trust. Pray for your student to grow, and trust that God is working through the people He has placed around them at Off the Wall. Pray for Off the Wall to proceed in godly wisdom and love in all things.
  • Making sure their home church is updated about their life at Off the Wall.
  • Sending them care packages!
